I was shocked when I read that the memorial to those killed in wartime bombing raids on Eastbourne might not be sited at the planned new Wish Tower restaurant.
The original cafe on the site, substantially funded by the Foyle family, stood as a memorial to the victims and the council should not forget about that and simply use the restaurant as a money-spinner. Eastbourne was so heavily bombed and an eye-catching memorial is needed to tell people this is part of our history.
