I would like to thank the Dickensian Committee for all their hard work in bringing together Dickensian Event on November 28 in Polegate town centre. Although a wet day, the event was very well attended and managed to raise money for the Polegate charity ‘You Raise Me Up’ which is what it is all about. We were joined by Tim Rice Oxley from the band Keane who turned on the Christmas Tree lights for us. The event was a long time in the planning and without this team of people it would not be possible to hold this annually.
The Dickensian Committee are Chloe Eason (Chair), Annabel Cottingham, David Cooke, Carmen Hainge, Rachel Wood, Sheree Fielder, Malcolm Cunningham, John Harmer, David Watts, Jean Cairns, John Rodgers, Terry and Jill Wright. My thanks goes out to all who helped plan and develop the event and my special thanks goes to Phil Masters from Hospital Radio DGH, who came along and supported the team.
Cllr David R Watts
Mayor of Polegate
