LETTER: Bridge was in original plans

Some concern has been expressed again recently about the delays at Hampden Park level crossing.

With 14 train movements each hour on off peak weekdays it is always going to be difficult.

The crossing is now managed by Three Bridges signallers with CCTV cameras at site. I am not sure if the closing procedure is activated by approaching trains or by the signaller using the cameras.

During the Hampden Park Housing development there was a plan for a bridge over the railway at the end of Lottbridge Drive and into Brodrick Road. I think that is why there is a ramp to a dead end at this location.

Some demolition would be necessary to build a bridge here but the situation at the level crossing will not get better and what would it be like without Cross Levels Way?
