Many people in Hampden Park were amazed to read Annemarie Field’s comment [Out In The Field, October 14] let alone the Hampden Park in Bloom members.
We wonder where or from whom Annemarie got her information. About 12 to 18 months ago the people she mentions, Ian and Julie Price, spent a few times with us then left.
They certainly did not plant any boxes up or the crown which was destroyed and have never created any of the displays. Hampden Park in Bloom was started many years ago by Olive Woodall and she still leads us today at the age of 90.
A member of staff from Paperlane rang me and told me about the damage to the crown. Olive, Hazel and myself went to sort it out with Philip Hearn who designed and made the display for us. He said Ian and Julie were not there.
