Melvill Lane

The 60,000 plus weekly users of the A27 between Eastbourne and Lewes face more misery.

Only the overdue plan to improve the Polegate junction is to be welcomed – perhaps in time they may even synchronise the Wannock road traffic lights with the new junction layout.

The three options offered in the consultation for the A27 Selmeston junction was not even mentioned in the final choice announcement so no hope to improve traffic flow at that notorious bottleneck!

As has already been mentioned a cost analysis of the £75 million for a bit of road widening here compared to the new and very complex landscaping and building of the A21 Tonbridge to Tunbridge Wells dual carriageway for less cost should be publicised.

This is hardly value for money except for the consultants involved.
