Regarding the article in this paper by Stephen Lloyd on keeping promises, who could fail to agree that trust comes from keeping faith with promises?

This currency, however, seems to be somewhat devalued by looking at the outcomes of previous promises made by Mr Lloyd.

Promise: Coalition.

‘I would not serve in any capacity in a David Cameron government.’

Promise: WASPI women.

How can someone campaign on their behalf when he was intimately involved in the government that caused their predicament?

Promise: Brexit.

To respect the result of the EU Referendum by not voting against Brexit related legislation. This is a process and not simply determined by an end vote. So far, he has voted against such legislation.

Promise: Southern rail dispute.

Despite a promise to end this in three months we are still suffering and waiting.

Remember, when you make a promise you keep it, ‘even if the outcome is difficult or inconvenient.’
