MY HUSBAND and I, American citizens, are staying in Eastbourne for a while.
Last night we boarded the train in Victoria after a day in London. We were exhausted and not encouraged to see a very large number of teenagers get on the train.
I felt bad for older passengers getting on at later stops and who had to stand for their journey because of the crowding.
However, we soon realized that these Italian teenagers, visiting Eastbourne and Hastings, were a mature group of young people with excellent manners.
It was a pleasure to share their company, and their parents and adult companions have much to be proud of.
