our regular correspondent and occasional columnist Michael Harris is wrong to claim that our MP Stephen Lloyd, is only going to vote for the Prime Minister’s EU deal because he thinks she is going down to defeat.
The simple truth is that he has repeatedly stated that he made a promise and intends to keep it.
In marked contrast Boris Johnson assured his constituents that he would always oppose more expansion of Heathrow Airport but when the Commons vote took place he made sure he was abroad.
To criticise a politician for breaking a promise is understandable, but to criticise one for keeping his is bizarre.
