Eastbourne Food Bank
We would like to thank all of those who so kindly donated food over the weekend of November 30- December 1 to the Eastbourne Foodbank collection from their Tesco shopping.
It was a fantastic effort and we are truly grateful for your generosity.
And thank you also to the Herald for the advance publicity it carried in its two issues before collection days.
Over the two days our volunteer collectors and drivers were able to send over 4.8 tonnes of food to our main warehouse in Brampton Road for onward distribution before Christmas to those in food poverty in the town.
That’s a record amount.
We are also indebted to the following businesses who also went out of their way to arrange food collections on their premises: Taylor Engley; OBC Accountants; Zoonou; Podiatry Department; Meads WI; Meadows Nursery; Russ Deacon Home Improvements; Camlock Systems Ltd; Camelot Kids Nursery plus many, many other organisations .
We believe that 2018 will become a record year for the number of those we have helped and we are expecting this to increase considerably next year.
Without the willingness of all of those mentioned here, we would be unable to meet the requests for help that we receive.
We thank you on behalf of the adults and children who will now have a better chance of having sufficient food this Christmas.
