Dogs shouldn’t be allowed on beach

We agree entirely with Dee Sharpe’s letter regarding the care of dogs!

In addition to her concerns and advice, we would like to add that it is always worrying to see dogs on the beach in hot weather.

This summer, while watching Airbourne, we saw one poor animal vomit because it had become exhausted, running in and out of the sea, chasing balls thrown by an unthinking owner.

We also saw a large dog land in the middle of a family’s picnic because it was not on a lead and no end of animals defecating on the stones.

All of which makes us wonder why the council do not do the same as on the Continent and stop dogs using the beach (and fouling it) from May to September?
