DGH rose to the challenge

I HAVE recently stayed on two occasions on Hailsham 3 ward, the first visit I was very ill and the second for a revision.

I would like to thank all the staff concerned in my recovery. The ward was a happy and friendly one.

All staff, night and day, were there for me at all times. I would especially like to thank Michael, Jo (care assistants) and Nicky the night staff nurse.

Also Sheena who helped me get back onto my feet the first time round (literally).

I cannot thank them all enough for their hard work and care. I would also like to thank the admissions team - they were brilliant.

I do not think these nurses and care assistants get praised enough. There is a lot lacking with the NHS on various levels but everyone was fantastic and caring.

An enormous thanks to the theatre teams on both occasions who without them I may not be here.

And finally to Mr Steve James who again was very professional and who I had every faith in, both times.

He is a fantastic surgeon and I was definitely a challenge. Thank you so much for bringing me through.

I can now enjoy a great Christmas and hopefully a very happy new year. Well done Eastbourne DGH.
