Cuts necessary to pay off our debts

In his invective (‘Bankers and politicians should pay for crisis’, Herald letters, September 30), Mr Keeley omits all the civil servants who oversaw the calamities to which he refers and who resolutely refuse to impose the cuts necessary to put this country back on an even keel.

Oversight or just good old mischief-making?
