I HAVE read many articles on our present dry state and must admit to being very confused as the evidence of my own eyes tells me a different story.
If I walk into my back garden I virtually sink into the sodden ground and what do I find when I go out and about?
Firstly pay a visit to Normans Bay and across the Pevensey Levels where you will see the dykes full and the water table has risen to the surface. Then go to Ardingly Reservoir and you will find it nearly full. No sign of any drought at all.
Why are we being pedalled the line about water shortages then? Could it be that the water companies want to scare us into having water meters for financial gain?
And I read this week the big companies are failing to meet their leakage targets.
