Changes needed, says Borough fan

I READ with interest the many views and opinions on Eastbourne Borough FC’s season so far.

I have just returned from watching the game against Grimsby.

The crowd was very supportive, very vocal and trying to spur the team on to a rewarding victory.

The size of the crowd was larger than in previous games.

For all the support given there is one problem.

The team is not good enough to stay in the Conference Premier.

The loan players are good, but that’s all they are, loan players.

Last season Boro narrowly escaped relegation partly down to having a good goalkeeper.

This season it does not appear to be the case.

Many club chairmen would make changes at management level too, especially after losing nine league games in succession.

Different ideas from a new manager would instill more confidence and results would change. Many Boro supporters will be wondering whether they will be travelling to see the likes of maybe Barnet or Stockport next season, or more likely Basingstoke and St Albans.

I also believe that many fans will go to watch Brighton & Hove Albion at Falmer and see potentially Championship football, thus forsaking Blue Square South football. My message to chairman Len Smith is this. Change things now before it is too late.
