Changes a small part of larger plans

IN reference to last week’s article about Hampden Park’s Age Concern shop, I would be grateful for the opportunity to comment.

In these challenging economic times, charity funding is being cut.

At Age Concern, we must rely more on our own sources of income to continue delivering high quality services and support to the older people of our community.

Our three shops, in Hampden Park, Grove Road and Green Street, are integral to this, and it has become essential to make structural changes to improve their profitability.

Unfortunately this has necessitated changing the way the shop is staffed, which you reported.

These changes are only a small part of larger plans we have for improving funding at Age Concern Eastbourne and we will be announcing these exciting developments soon.
