At odds with location of body

THIS talk about the killing of the art student Jessie Earl and the discovery of her remains in 1989 brings back unpleasant memories to me, but I find myself slightly at odds with the location.

I say this because I believe the lovely Whitbread Hollow was the site of the grisly remains and not the dreadful summit of the cliff called Beachy Head that ‘beetles o’er its base into the sea’ (Horatio-Hamlet).

It certainly seems very likely that the hideous Peter Tobin was the perpetrator of that horrendous deed, and let’s hope that he is found to be.

Incidentally the name Whitbread comes from a cereal crop of yesteryear that provided white bread.
