WITH reference to your article in last week’s Herald regarding the decision by Age Concern Eastbourne to remain an independent local charity I would be grateful for an opportunity to put people’s minds at rest regarding our activities.
As a result of our decision not to join the Age UK brand we are no longer able to sell Age UK branded insurance and other financial services products.
Age UK has written to all existing customers in Eastbourne advising them of this with the reassurance that any products they have purchased remain valid. This is perfectly correct.
However, while it will no longer be possible to purchase Age UK products at the Venton Centre we are pleased to be able to offer a new range of insurance and other products we believe will provide much greater choice to customers as well as helping them to support their local charity.
Apart from these changes to our insurance product portfolio I would like to reassure everybody that it is very much business as usual at Age Concern Eastbourne and we will continue to deliver the full range of activities and services that make such a difference to the lives of older people in our town.
This is something we have been successfully doing for more than 60 years.
As many readers will have noticed we have recently rebranded the Venton centre, our three shops and our shopping transport minibus and are confident this change of identity will herald a bright new future for our organisation as a truly local charity dedicated to the wellbeing of older people in Eastbourne.
