A slow stroll on the prom for charity

I am writing in response to the ‘Super Gran’ article (Herald, September 23).

While I am a 62-year-old grandmother of two young teenagers and another who will be 10 this month, I can assure you I would never be seen dishing out Werther’s Originals. However, a slow stroll along the seafront is a definite, due solely to arthritis in both knees and an artificial hip.

My next slow stroll will take place on Madeira Drive, Brighton, on Sunday (October 9) for a very worthwhile charity event called Brightona, which raises money for the Brighton Heart Trust.

To get there I will be folding my walking stick, getting into my leathers and mounting the pillion of my husband’s Kawasaki Cruiser in order to join several thousand bikers for a fantastic day out, which will hopefully help towards another record-breaking year for the Brightona fundraising target.

Anyone want to join us?
