THE HAVEN Rangers have been busy tidying the school’s environmental area and making bird cake ready for its RSPB bird watch.
Youngsters from The Haven School enjoyed spotting and feeding the wide variety of bird which have been attracted to the environmental area.
The children spotted magpies, blackbirds, pied wagtails, blue tits and a sparrow hawk. They have also seen a newt and a toad.
The Haven Ranger were excited to find these creatures and plan to encourage more wildlife by including a hedgehog house and maybe a small vegetable patch.
The rangers have recently been given a Green Tree School Gold Award from the Woodland Trust for their efforts in the environmental area.
Planted trees, recycling Christmas cards, visiting woods and reducing the schools carbon emissions are just some of the activities which have helped the children win the award.
