A young boy had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming stuck in mud in an Eastbourne park on Monday evening.
Firefighters were called at 5.27pm to Motcombe Park after reports of a person stuck in mud.
On arrival, crews confirmed one male child was stuck in mud up to his knees.
Crews used a short extension ladder, foam and foam lance, which is used to aerate the mud and release any vacuum, to free the child, who was uninjured.
Motcombe Road was closed for some time and an ambulance was also called.
The boy is thought to have been trying to recover his football from an area which has been filled with silt cleared from Motcombe Pond recently.
