The Love Sussex calendar has been launched for 2017 and printers Evonprint can announce local charity You Raise Me Up is set to benefit.

For 2017’s edition, the 30-year-old Sussex-based family-run company initially called out to the county’s charities to nominate themselves to be in the running to become Evonprint’s chosen cause.

The top four nominated charities – St Catherine’s Hospice, You Raise Me Up, Sussex Past and Chloe’s Horsham, were put to a public vote via Evonprint’s Facebook page. The winning charity has now been announced as You Raise Me Up, which stormed into the lead late on in the voting stage.

This great cause offers financial and emotional support to families that have lost a young adult between the ages of 16 and 25.

You Raise Me Up will be given the calendars to sell to raise funds for their work.

Phase two will invite local residents to submit photos of ‘having fun in Sussex’ to make up the calendar’s images. More details to follow.

Jane Brooks, trustee of You Raise Me Up, said, “We are so happy to have been chosen by the Sussex community through the Facebook voting competition.

“As a small charity, we are very reliant on support from others, so we can pass that support onto those who desperately need it.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us and to Evonprint for enabling us to be part of this.”

Steve Rowland, managing director at Evonprint, added, “We’d like to congratulate You Raise Me Up for winning the charity vote.

“It’s a great cause and we’re really happy to be supporting them.”
