A clever shop has turned an old adage on its head and created the world's first useful chocolate teapot - that is strong enough to hold hot drinks.

Designed to appease chocolate lovers, the canny teapot gives chocolate addicts the chance to enjoy a rich hot chocolate before the pot melts.

Handmade from 58% quality dark chocolate, the teapot must be filled with hot water and cocoa powder before the rich drink can be poured.

Those who are bored of tea can add more water to turn the teapot into a retro chocolate fondue, perfect for dipping banana, strawberries or marshmallows into the creamy chocolate.

Sold by online retailers Firebox, the £24.99 pot is flying off the shelves ahead of Easter by people wanting to prove there is such a thing as a useful chocolate teapot.

A spokesperson said: “It’s more useful than an ashtray on a motorbike, a waterproof teabag, a glass hammer or mudflaps on a tortoise.

“Handmade in Britain from quality dark chocolate the 600g teapot turns old wisdom on its stupid old head.”
