An Eastbourne based group which helps motivate women has won a top grant.
The WayfinderWoman club was awarded the grant by the Feminist Review Trust, which gives out grants internationally, and in the UK, to organisations that support women.
Laura Murphy, who set up WayfinderWoman, said, “We’re absolutely delighted the trust has awarded WayfinderWoman a grant to run a motivational and educational seminar in Eastbourne for unemployed women.
“Their previous projects have included tackling asylum issues in Italy and the Ukraine, gender mutilation in Gambia, partner violence in Ecuador and sexual violence in East Congo amongst others. Only 5 per cent of applications made to the trust are successful so it’s quite humbling when you consider the work that they fund around the world, that the trust has now agreed to support WayfinderWoman. “
