Woman’s Eastbourne home hit by thieves

A stroke victim has been burgled and jewellery bought by her late husband was stolen.

Police are seeking information after the woman’s house was burgled overnight in Eastbourne town centre.

Between Saturday November 7 and Sunday November 8, burglars broke into the house in Richmond Place, off Selwyn Road, and the home of a 61-year-old woman who has previously suffered a stroke.

The burglars stole cash, bank cards and jewellery much of which had been bought for her by her late husband.

Detective Constable Costin Bonell said, “We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that night, or who has any other information, to contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 432 of 08/11.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via www.crimestoppers-org.uk or call them on 0800 555 111.”
