Woman found dead on beach near Eastbourne
The body of a woman was found on a beach near Eastbourne yesterday.
The Eastbourne lifeboat volunteer crew was called at 10am on Saturday (May 15) to assist police with an incident. The crew said local coastguards and coastguard rescue helicopter also attended.
A statement from Sussex Police said, “Police responded to reports of a body of a woman found at the beach near Birling Gap, Eastbourne at 9.10am on Saturday, May 15.
“Officers attended and sadly it was confirmed that the woman had died.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner’s officer has been informed.”
