Woman attacked in attempted robbery in Eastbourne

A woman was attacked by a would be thief in Eastbourne last week.

Police have just released details of the incident and say officers were called at around 10.15pm on Tuesday April 19 to a report an attempted robbery in Marine Road.

The victim, a 47-year-old woman from the town, was approached from behind by a man who tried to grab her phone.

In the struggle she fell to the floor causing minor injuries to her face and knee.

The suspect is described as black, in his twenties or thirties, of slim build and was wearing a beige jacket, dark trousers and sports shoes. He ran off empty-handed.
