South East Water’s large-scale investment programme moves in to Herstmonceux this month with plans to upgrade 530 metres of water main.
The £127,000 scheme, which starts on Monday November 19 and is expected to be completed next March, will reduce the likelihood of disruptive burst water mains in the area.
The upgrade will see a new 10-inch diameter water main installed in Gardener Street, between the junctions of Chapel Row and West End (A271). Businesses along the road will remain open as usual throughout.
James Smith at South East Water said, “Customers in the village will get a continual supply of top quality water.”
