DO you enjoy country walks in your local area and love trees?

East Sussex County Council is looking for elm protection volunteers to walk their local patch every fortnight to look out for the health of elm trees.

ESCC will train and support you, and there will be plenty of opportunities to meet experienced elm protection volunteers to help you learn the ropes.

The next gathering is in Alfriston on the afternoon of May 21, for an introduction to the magnificent elms of the village and tea with fellow volunteers.

If you live in or near the control area from Brighton to Eastbourne, and would like to consider being an elm protection volunteer, you should get in touch with James Newmarch at james.newmarch@eastsussex.gov.uk or 01273 481838, leaving your contact details.
