Village Voice - Ninfield - October 8, 2010

I WOULD like to thank those that have given me kind words of support for taking on this role, it is much appreciated. Many people in the villages use this column to keep abreast of events going on in our community, so if you have any forthcoming event or would like to reach out to possible new members for your club/society (for both the young and mature members of the villages), please get in touch with me: [email protected]. Last Saturday saw the second Ninfield Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the Memorial Hall. This was yet another great exhibit of the talent that Ninfield has to offer, with 22 exhibitors. There were some truly beautiful items on display. A big thank you to Sam Guard and Kaye Crittell for organising the event. An approx. total of £250.00 was raised which will go towards the Memorial Hall funds. Kaye and Sam would like to thank all the exhibitors, helpers and cake makers for making it such a lovely day.

In August, the Head Teacher of Ninfield C of E School, Mr Chris Brown climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. He raised between £1500-£2000 for Addenbrooke’s Hospital charity. He made it to the summit on Thursday August 12, 2010 at 6.45am after starting the summit climb at midnight. The whole trek took 8 days. Chris said “ It was an exhausting but amazing experience”. Well done Chris. I am also doing my bit for charity in a few weeks. I am running the BUPA Great South Run on October 24, 2010 in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign. This is a 10 mile run around Portsmouth. Anyone who knows me and wishes to sponsor me, you can do so at Ninfield village Stores or by going to: http://www.justgiving.com/Rachel-Feeley. As a warm up run for this event I took part in the Battle bonfire Boyes 10K run in September with Mr Brown, Mr Palmer and Mr Corby to raise funds for Ninfield C of E School. We would like to thank all those that sponsored us for this event - we raised approx. £200.
