UPDATE: Woman taken to hospital after collision in Eastbourne

The collision took place on the B21103 Warren Hill at Beachy Head Road, which was closed both ways.

The fire service, police and the ambulance service were called to the scene.

An elderly man who was trapped in one of the vehicles was released by a fire service crew, a spokesman confirmed.

One woman with chest injuries was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, an ambulance spokesman said.

There were three other casualties who did not require hospital treatment, according to the spokesman.
