UPDATE: Man hit by train at Cooden Beach

A man was hit by a train at Cooden Beach station causing severe delays on the railways this afternoon (Monday, December 28).

South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the station at around 2.30pm.

The man was treated at the scene before taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious leg and other injuries.

Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance and British Transport Police also attended.

Trains were cancelled between Hastings and Eastbourne with replacement buses running but the line has now reopened.
