Sussex Police said a 17-year-old boy accompanied by a friend met with a couple of acquaintances at about 5pm in Terminus Road on Wednesday (November 21).

They engaged in conversation and the victim was threatened with what he believed to be a gun, police said.

He ran away and into a betting shop on Langney Road.

Two people have been arrested following the incident.

Police say they are a 20-year-old man on suspicious of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and threats to kill and a 17-year-old on suspicion of threats to kill.

Both have been bailed until December 19.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said investigations continue.
