Trio steal man’s Gucci bag in Eastbourne street robbery

A distinctive Gucci bag was stolen in a street robbery in Hampden Park.

Three men approached the victim near the junction of Decoy Drive and Roffrey Avenue between midnight and 1pm on Sunday (June 19).

They assaulted him before stealing the bag and other personal items and running away up Roffrey Avenue. The victim was shaken but unhurt.

The same three men are believed to have been customers at the McDonald’s restaurant on Lottbridge Drove immediately prior to the robbery taking place.

All were in their late teens or early 20s and all wore baggy tracksuits.

One of the men was black, 5’8”, skinny, with his hair in cornrows. The second was mixed race, about 5’8” with a tattoo on the right of his neck of the word Mum.

The third suspect was also of mixed race, 5’10”, chubby, with a ‘fading’ hair style.

Anyone who saw what happened, recognise the trio from their descriptions, or have recently seen or been offered the victim’s Gucci man bag, is asked to email or phone 101, quoting serial 82 of 19/06.
