TRAVEL: Sussex travel news for Saturday

The roads across the county pose no major problems for motorists this morning (Saturday, August 20), as the main routes are reporting no congestion.

For those travelling by train throughout today, there are a few engineering works taking place, meaning some lines in Sussex will be closed.

Engineering work is taking place between Earlswood and Three Bridges, closing some lines.

The 23:17 London Bridge to Horsham train will not call at Earlswood and Salfords.

Connecting buses will run between Redhill and Gatwick Airport calling at Earlswood, Salfords and Horley.

Buses also replace trains between Hastings and Ore and Ashford International from tonight from 10.50pm until 8.50am tomorrow (Sunday, August 21).

Buses are also replacing most trains on Southern services between Lewes and Seaford due to staff shortages.

For those heading up to London via Hastings, Battle and Tunbridge Wells on Southeastern’s services, engineering work is taking place between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge until 4am on Monday (August 22).

All lines are closed, meaning there are rail replacement buses between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.
