Travel news for Sussex, Saturday, March 18

The roads across Sussex appear to be free of congestion this morning, with no reported incidents so far for motorists but anyone planning to travel by train this weekend should be aware that engineering works may affect their journey.

Today (Saturday, March 18) and tomorrow (Sunday, March 19), there are no Southeastern trains to and from London Charing Cross, London Cannon Street or London Waterloo East, with some trains starting/terminating at London Bridge and others diverted to start/terminate at London Victoria.

On the Charing Cross to Hastings line, services will start/terminate at London Bridge and be diverted via Redhill on both days.

On Southern lines, from 10pm tonight until 6am tomorrow, Network Rail is carrying out engineering work between Lewes and Seaford and Polegate closing the line, so rail replacement bus services will run.

Buses also replace trains between Three Bridges and Brighton and Lewes tomorrow.
