Here is your morning travel update for Sussex on Tuesday, September 1.

There reports of congestion on some of the county’s main roads this morning.

According to the AA there is slow traffic on A27 Polegate Bypass eastbound between Brown Jack Avenue and A22 Polegate Road (Cophall Roundabout) in the construction area.

There are lane closures in place.

West of the county, there are reports of slow traffic on A29 Stane Street both ways between High Street and New Road in the construction area in Billingshurst.

Elsewhere there are a number of ongoing roadworks taking place.

There are temporary traffic signals due to construction on the A259 South Coast Road near Downland Avenue.

There are also temporary traffic lights in place due to water main work on A295 High Street near Hailsham College (London Road).

Water main work is also taking place on Rattle Road at Wood Sage Way in Stone Cross, meaning temporary traffic lights are in place.
