Polegate level crossing is due to be closed twice overnight as works are carried out on the train line.

The crossing, as well as 20 meters either side, will be unavailable between 10pm on May 17 to 5am on May 18 and 10pm on May 20 to 5am on May 21 due to the work by National Rail.
East Sussex County Council said a safe route will be provided for pedestrians while vehicular access for residents and to properties will be maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2247 Hailsham Road – A27(T) Cophall Roundabout – A27(T) Eastbourne Road – A2270 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.
