Boy, 12, hit by a car in Eastbourne

A child was taken to hospital in London after being hit by a car in Eastbourne yesterday (October 5).

The accident involved a silver BMW 320 Touring car, driven by a 66-year-old man from Stone Cross, and a 12-year-old boy who was on foot.

Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the air ambulance were called to the scene at Princes Road at 4.52pm.

The 12-year-old boy suffered leg injuries and was taken to St George’s Hospital in London by land ambulance.

The car driver was unhurt.

Princes Road was closed until 6.40pm while the incident was dealt with.
