British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to after a cycle theft at Eastbourne Railway Station.

Investigators are appealing to the public to come forward to help identify the person pictured.

BTP officers believe the man pictured may have information about a bike that was stolen from Eastbourne station at 2pm on Wednesday, August 28. Officers would also like to speak to the man pictured about a bike that was stolen from Eastbourne station on Sunday, 11 August, between 10am and 9pm.

PC Billy Burstow said, “Sadly bicycles are a popular target for thieves but there are lots of things people can do to make sure their property is adequately marked and secured.

“It’s important to remember to register your bike and ensure a solid lock is used to secure it. If a bike is adequately marked, it makes it much easier to identify and therefore helps reduce the risk of becoming a victim of bike theft.”

Anyone with any information about the incidents or who recognises the people pictured in the images should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference B16/LSA of 3/12/13.
