Yacht towed to safety by Eastbourne lifeboat

Eastbourne’s all-weather lifeboat was sent out today after reports of a yacht taking on water.

The volunteer crew were called to assist the yacht, which was 24 miles to the south of RNLI Eastbourne Lifeboat Station.

A local fishing vessel stood by until help arrived.

Around 3pm today, the lifeboat crew reported that they were towing the yacht to the safety of Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne.
