Leaper Stanbrook has recently sold a high-value five bedroom detached residence in Meads without the need for any on-line marketing.

Andrew Leaper commented, “We were asked to value the house by the owners who were in the early stages of considering whether to move out of the area.

“During our meeting I made the vendors aware we had a particular applicant who had recently registered with our Meads office looking for a house that fitted the description.

“They agreed to us arranging an accompanied viewing, a sale was agreed and our vendor and purchaser recently exchanged contracts.

“A similar situation arose when we were contacted by an applicant who had previously owned a house in De Walden Mews, Meads, and wanted to move back to the same development.

“Having recently valued a house there, we contacted the owner who was happy for us to conduct a viewing.

“A sale was subsequently agreed and the new owner is delighted to have now taken up residence,” Andrew continued.

“These are just two of a number of recent examples where we have been able to match a purchaser and vendor without the need for full marketing.

“Some of our vendors have asked us to find them a buyer without initially advertising on the internet or in the local paper, as they perhaps have not wanted neighbours or friends to know they were considering moving until there was some certainty.

“While some property portals and the local paper do provide us with some very good leads, a good estate agent will potentially be able to find a purchaser from their extensive applicant database.

“Some buyers do rely on property portals to find a new home, but in my experience most serious buyers register directly with an estate agent with a High Street presence and would expect to be called as soon as a suitable property becomes available rather than spend time trawling the internet.

Andrew concludes, “Leaper Stanbrook has been selling property in Eastbourne and the surrounding area for more than 50 years and there have been many changes in the way estate agency has evolved over that time.

“However the traditional methods that have served the High Street estate agent well over the years are as important as ever and are an essential ingredient of our services in ensuring the best results for our clients.”
