Traders based on the Waterfront at Sovereign Harbour have presented a new portable public address system to Eastbourne RNLI.

Volunteer lifeboat crew can use the system at public outdoor events such as the forthcoming Carols with the Crew which will be held on the Waterfront on December 10.

Waterfront traders have been hosting a variety of events in recent years with any profits going to Eastbourne Lifeboats.

Their latest donation of £750 brings the total to in excess of £5,000.

The PA system and cheque was presented to Coxswain Mark Sawyer and Lifeboat treasurer Keith Stevens by Bruno Di Lieto and Stephen Nock, of The Waterfront Traders Association, and Councillor Paul Metcalfe, ex RNLI Operations Manager. Mark Sawyer said the equipment would be a much-needed asset to the station.
