Popular reality TV personality James ‘Arg’ Argent will be at the Eastbourne Arndale Centre as part of a special event for students next month.

Arg, a regular on ITV2’s ‘The Only Way is Essex’ (TOWIE), will visit the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday, October 7 to meet with students at the exclusive event and help them shop as they prepare for the new term.

The Arndale Centre will open its doors from 6.30pm to 9pm to students over the age of 16 from Sussex Downs College and the University of Brighton. The event will see many stores offering discounts of up to 20 per cent for the night. Registration on arrival, on the production of a valid student card, will give everyone automatic entry into a prize draw to win an iPad mini.

Many of the stores in the Centre will be taking part, including Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Animal, Next and Burtons.

There will be music in the Centre, plus a Funky Photo Booth to record some great memories of the evening. Sainsbury’s are offering student survival kits if you sign up to a Nectar Card and Robert Dyas will be giving 20 per cent discount on essential student kitchen goodies needed to survive away from home.

There will be a static exercise bike race outside with a £50 prize for the best time. Students can see if they can beat Arg, who will show off his cycling skills too.

Arg has been a cast member of TOWIE since its first episode in 2010 and will be in Eastbourne just one day before the show’s new series begins again on October 8.

The 26-year-old has also featured on Loose Women from 2011 to 2013 and on Channel 5’s reality TV show Celebrity Super Spa alongside Helen Flanagan, Rustie Lee, Jody Latham and Yvette Fielding late last year.

Arndale Centre manager Bill Plumridge said, “We’re delighted to be welcoming Arg to the Centre for our third student night and hope he can give everyone a bit of inside information for the new series.

“Eastbourne’s growing student population is a very important part of the town, so it’s great to be able to give them their own night to shop, with some fantastic offers at the start of the new term.”
