The Rattonians are delivering the incredibly popular “Crazy For You” at the Congress Theatre at the end of July.

This wonderful Gershwin musical began life as “Girl Crazy” in the 1930’s and was re-packaged in the 1990’s where it ran on Broadway and in London to great acclaim.

Crazy for You uncorked the American musical’s classic blend of music, laughter, dancing, sentiment and showmanship with a fresh confidence. The genius of George and Ira Gershwin makes the music timeless.

Bobby Child (Alex Adams), the rich New Yorker, who only has dreams of dancing on the stage, is exasperating his Mother (Melanie Adams), by not wishing to continue in the family banking business. She sends him to Deadrock, Navada to prove that he can conduct business by foreclosing on a bank loan on a theatre there.

The feisty Polly (Star Bray) is defending the theatre and Bobby falls in love with her.

His fiancé, Irene (Emily Davis) is not happy about him being sent west and follows him. Polly is not impressed when she finds out he is from the bank so Bobby disguises himself as the theatre impresario Bella Zangler to save the theatre and win her over, however, the real Balla Zangler (Steve Clarke) turns up and the fun begins.

The show is packed with great comedy and dance routines including I’ve Got Rhythm and Someone to Watch Over Me.

The show is on from July 24-August 3. Call 412000 for tickets (£12.50-£15).
