The Aegon International celebrated the 40th anniversary of international tennis at Eastbourne with a specially-designed cake which was presented on Centre Court following the opening match on Wednesday

The cake, the winning entry in a cake design competition, was chosen by a panel which included Culinary Olympic gold medallist and award winning sugar artist Michelle Wibowo.

The winner of the competition was Barbara Manning from Eastbourne whose design was chosen as it best reflected the history of the tournament.

The spectacular Happy Birthday Eastbourne cake, which featured legendary players Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert and Virginia Wade, was created by Wibowo, and both competition winner and sugar artist attended the cake cutting ceremony.

Slices of the cake were later enjoyed by fans in return for donations to The Rally For Bally.
