FOOTNOTES: A quiet week for both Jack and I, somewhat disturbed by the arrival of painters and decorators for the annual pre-spring smarten up.
We took ourselves off to Telscombe Village. I never tire of this little spot, winter or summer. A small village mercifully frozen in a time warp, hidden as it is in a fold of the downs. Jack gambolled as much as he could at his age and I was left admiring the scenery.
So peaceful, a place of quiet and solitude in a world, that seems at times intent on tearing itself to pieces. Then back home to buttered crumpets, tea and the smell of fresh paint.
Go safely, have a good week.
