A talk on badgers and grazing will be held at Victoria Baptist Church’s main hall, Eldon Road, on Thursday March 19 at 7.30pm.

The speaker is Dr Tony Whitbread, chief executive of the Sussex Wildlife Trust, and he will cover bovine tuberculosis and the Trust’s grazing programme.

He will explain how viable grazing is central to nature conservation not just on nature reserves but throughout the farmed landscape. Bovine TB in cattle threatens this and there is a bTB High Risk Area located between Eastbourne and Brighton. He will also talk about the Trust’s first ever badger vaccination programme which will start in the Eastbourne area in May.

Admission is £2 for SWT Members and £3 for visitors/non-Mmmbers –tea/coffee and biscuits (50p) will be served during the interval.
