TWENTY-FOUR talented performers and groups have been picked for the final of the Eastbourne Talent Show.

Auditions for the event, organised by the Eastbourne Herald, took place at the Royal Hippodrome Theatre on Saturday (May 7).

The finals take place in the same venue on May 28 and the finalists are: Bethany Rands-Walsh, Dave B, Daniel Burr, Lee Patrice, Chloe Sanders, Carl Parsons, Fiorella Amicucci, Tony Mason, Harrison Henderson, Chloe Murphy, Daniella Poland, Marie White, Fortune vocal group, Thomas Sangster, Lauren Douglin, Jamie Howard, Archie Norris, Sea Gypsies Dance Group, The Elements vocal group, Daniel Thomas, Louie Kershaw, Lucie Brown, Elisha Tsaparelli and The Goldman Singers.

Faiza Shafeek, event organiser, said, “The Talent Show auditions exceeded all my expectations.

“Not only were the acts incredible, they were all so professional in their presentation and attitude.

“From pre-teens to pensioners, it was a joy to see so many truly talented people capable of walking onto a stage in front of strangers and making the entire auditorium come alive.”

Event judge Jeff Topp, who is offering a four-hour recording session at Appleyard Studios for the winners of each category (under and over 15s), said, “It was fantastic.

“It goes to show there’s a lot of hidden talent in Eastbourne.

“Frankly, we were blown away by the standard of the acts, it made the job of us judges so much harder.”

Other judges were Denise Harwood, commercial director of sponsors Enterprise Shopping Centre, Carl Bird, owner of Coffee Republic, and actor Jonathan Linsley.

Tickets for the final cost £8.50, or £5.50 for children. Call 412000.
