A new talent-matching scheme has been launched in Eastbourne.
Talent Match is a national programme which helps unemployed local people aged between 18 and 24-years-old to find work if they have been unemployed for more than 12 months.
The young people will be matched with a mentor who will help them in their journey to find work, gain qualifications, build confidence and undertake work experience, something which prospective employers often look for.
Eastbourne Borough Council and Eastbourne Homes’ Driving Devonshire Forward team worked closely with Amicus Horizon and Devonshire West Big Local to ensure Talent Match came to town.
Councillor Steve Wallis said, “This programme is a real life changing opportunity for young residents who need to be given a chance and someone impartial to talk to and help turn their ambitions into a reality.”
