Barry Piper of Eastbourne Lions Club said, “Money raised will allow Lions to meet pressing needs in our community and to assist those local clubs and organisations who took part and their chosen good causes. I would like to thank the 100 plus swimmers, the Eastbourne Voluntary Lifeguards, staff and management of the Sovereign Centre and my Lions team for making it all possible. When all the sponsorship money is in we hope to amass more than the £7,000 raised at last year’s event.”
